The USF Art Gallery is proud to present Feelings are Involved, a solo exhibition by Sydney Vize. Working across sculpture, fiber, and book arts, Vize transforms the subtle moments of everyday life into sites of reflection and inquiry. Her work focuses on the tension between self-awareness and external observation, those fleeting instants when we feel watched, judged, or caught within our own expectations. By magnifying the small and seemingly mundane, Vize reveals how ordinary gestures and encounters can expose larger truths about social behavior, perception, and emotional experience.

Sydney Vize, I am maneuvering with difficulty, 2025
Sydney Vize, Keep clear of me, 2025
Sydney Vize, Stop carrying out your intentions, 2025

Each piece in Feelings are Involved invites viewers to slow down and recognize the quiet intensity embedded in familiar situations. Through thoughtful material choices and precise forms, Vize examines how scrutiny, whether self-imposed or imagined through the gaze of others-shapes our sense of identity and belonging. In Feelings are involved Vize balances emotional sensitivity with conceptual rigor, turning moments of introspect tion into powerful meditations on the everyday.
